Doctor Who has such an odd way of celebrating the holidays. LOL Great timing with the music! Nice job capturing the episode.

Haha! Thanks amtrak12!

Cool song choice. This is my favorite Christmas Carol and in fact was the first holiday song I did for Farscape.

I like the fade to B&W you use. Also the zoom in to the beat. And I loved the whole fast cut sequence when he's on the Sycorax ship. Excellent job capturing the Christmas Invasion. :)

A Farscape vid! Ooooh!

I was thinking that the editing might've been too fast, but I guess it's working for other people besides me. ;) Thanks for pointing out all the effects. I had a lot of fun trying them out here. :D

Here's my version for Farscape. http://www.craisie.com/id236.htm It's a different version of the song, but it was a lot of fun for me. :) I know there's a post in the archive somewhere, but this was the fast way to find it. :D

I try to point out effects when folks have used them effectively and it makes an impression on me. This vid did that. I really enjoyed it and am glad you experimented. :D

Whooooa! Thanks for that link! It may be an older vid of yours, but you sure knew how to punctuate those big beats with the flashes and with the onscreen action. Thanks again, and a Merry Frelling Christmas to you! ;)

Of course my favorite part of the video was the final few shots of the Doctor and Rose but the whole video is done very very well. Especially the fast cuts to keep up with the beat of the music.

Great job I really enjoyed it! :D

Yup, gotta insert that bit of D/R when I can, y'know? ;) Glad you enjoyed the vid!

Oh brilliant! I love this version of the song! Wasn't it the one from Home alone?
Anyway, I absolutely adore this vid! The transitions and scenes were perfect! Ha ha it was a lot of fun watching it! Awesome job, rhoboat!
Also: I really love the header! I kind of like the look of Rose's face in this one.

I love this version of the song! Wasn't it the one from Home alone?

I have no idea. I downloaded the mp3 from Amazon because it was near the top of the list of "Carol of the Bells" that they had for download. The other things it had that fit my criteria were that it had a fast beat and the song wasn't too long. :D

Ooooh, thanks for the comment on the header! All the pics in there are caps from the vid itself. :D Thanks for watching, and I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Oh, that was great. I love that carol, and contrasting the ominousness (is that a word? lol) of TCI worked really well. Great matching of the clips, especially in that middle section with the sword fight scene. I also really liked the ending, how it all faded out, then we got the gentle, happy reunion of Rose and the Doctor. Nice job.

Ominousness. I like it. ;) The sword fight scene was a lot of fun, as was pretty much the whole vid. Thanks!!!

And since Christmas is over I guess I better finally comment! Sorry for the tardiness. I've had this open in a tab for forever. :)

But...it was awesome. I can see why it was slanted towards Ten/Rose as it was mainly focused on The Christmas Invasion. I also really loved the coloring of the whole thing. That glow was really nice. Smooth cutting too. But what I loved most was that last shot of Harriet Jones. That was very deep. ;)
rhoboat: Huh?rhoboat on December 28th, 2007 05:42 am (UTC)
No worries on tardiness. Late comments are better than none, right? ;)

The glow comes from that handy dandy filter pack that takes forever to render when you use it, but that extra time is worth it for colors that pretty. :D Shot of Harriet Jones = deep, huh? Okay. I thought it fit the music, and that's all I was going for. LOL Thanks for the comments, and glad you liked!

Shot of Harriet Jones = deep, huh?
Oh yes indeed. Considering the fact that the Doctor hypocritically punished Harriet Jones for destroying the alien spaceship, it's pretty damn deep. ;)

Aww this was fun! Great choice of song and I really enjoyed the editing, especially the cropping zooms. I love how it was centered all around The Christmas Invasion, which it was intended for, I know, but didn't know before I started watching. The choir brings an eerie sensation to it all, like it's much more deeper than just a Christmas video. Very cool Rho.. I enjoyed it!
rhoboat: Geekrhoboat on January 8th, 2008 07:36 am (UTC)
Yay!! I'm really glad you enjoyed the editing here; I was worried the zooms were kinda overboard (they were for my brother LOL). I think the music is pretty eerie too!

These challenges have definitely allowed me to try new things, and it's a lot of fun. It's also a lot less hair-pulling sticking to one episode. ;)

Thanks for the lovely comments, Lev!
